What is a Dedicated IP?

A dedicated IP is a unique Internet address assigned to a single hosting account (dedicated.) Normally, more than one hosting accounts reside on a server and share that server's IP address. Dedicated IP addresses are usually used for SSL-encrypted secure websites and particularly large and/or traffic-heavy sites.

Most shared hosting users do not require a dedicated IP address.

Do I need a Dedicated IP?

With a Dedicated IP on your hosting account, you can set up an external SSL Certificate on your website. If you need to install an SSL Certificate that you did not purchased from Hostdeal, you will need a Dedicated IP.

When you purchase an SSL Certificate from Hostdeal we include a Dedicated IP, thus you do not need to purchase one if you are adding a SSL Certificate to your hosting.

How Much Does a Dedicated IP Cost?

Dedicated IPs can be added to the Small Business and Business hosting plans for $3.00/month or $30.00/year.
