How long is the certificate valid?
Let's Encrypt certificates are valid for 90 days but auto-renew, so effectively indefinite.
Is Let's Encrypt secure enough?
Yes! Let's Encrypt uses the same encryption strength as paid certificates. The main difference is the validation type.
Why would I need a paid certificate?
- Extended Validation (company name in browser)
- Warranty/insurance
- Specific compliance requirements
Can I use SSL with my own domain?
Yes, SSL works with both Lifetime Domains and your own domains.
What if SSL doesn't work?
Ensure your domain points to Hostdeal servers and DNS has propagated. Then request certificate in DirectAdmin.
Does SSL slow down my site?
Modern SSL has negligible performance impact. The security benefits far outweigh any minimal overhead.
Is SSL required?
