How to Download Backups from JetBackup
Getting Backup Copies
Download backups to your computer for safekeeping.
Why Download Backups
- Extra safety - store off-server
- Migration to another host
- Local development
- Long-term archival
Downloading Files
- Open JetBackup
- Go to File Backups
- Select backup date
- Navigate to files/folders
- Select items
- Click Download
Downloading Databases
- Open JetBackup
- Go to Database Backups
- Select database and date
- Click Download
- Save the SQL file
Download Formats
- Files: ZIP or TAR archive
- Databases: SQL file (possibly compressed)
Large Downloads
For large backups:
- Stable internet connection recommended
- May take significant time
- Consider downloading in parts
Storing Downloaded Backups
- External hard drive
- Cloud storage (Google Drive, Dropbox)
- Multiple locations recommended
