Why Am I Not Receiving Emails?

Troubleshooting Missing Emails

If you're not receiving emails, follow these steps to diagnose the issue.

Step 1: Check Spam/Junk Folder

Legitimate emails often end up in spam. Check your:

  • Webmail spam folder
  • Email client spam/junk folder

Step 2: Verify Mailbox Quota

  1. Log into DirectAdmin
  2. Go to Email Accounts
  3. Check if your mailbox is full
  4. Delete old emails or increase quota

Step 3: Check Email Filters/Forwarders

Make sure you don't have:

  • Filters deleting or moving emails
  • Forwarders sending mail elsewhere

Step 4: Verify MX Records

If using an external domain, ensure MX records point to Hostdeal.

Step 5: Check Blacklists

The sender's server might be blacklisted. Ask them to check their IP reputation.

Step 6: Test with Another Sender

Send a test email from Gmail or another provider to see if it arrives.

Common Causes

  • Full mailbox
  • Aggressive spam filtering
  • Incorrect MX records
  • Email filters/rules
  • Sender's server issues

Still Not Working?

Contact support with:

  • Your email address
  • Sender's email address
  • Date/time email was sent
  • Any error messages the sender received
