Migrating Email to Hostdeal

Transfer your existing emails from Gmail, Yahoo, or another provider.

Method 1: Email Client Migration

1. Set up OLD email account in Thunderbird/Outlook using IMAP
2. Set up NEW Hostdeal email account using IMAP
3. Drag and drop folders from old to new account
4. Wait for synchronization to complete

Method 2: Webmail Import (if available)

1. Log into Hostdeal webmail
2. Look for Import function in settings
3. Enter old email credentials
4. Select what to import

Method 3: Forward and Archive

1. Set up forwarding from old account to new
2. Download archive from old provider
3. Import archive to new account

From Gmail

1. Use Google Takeout to export emails
2. Download the MBOX file
3. Import using Thunderbird or similar

What Gets Migrated

• Email messages
• Folder structure
• Read/unread status
• Attachments

What May Not Migrate

• Email filters/rules
• Contacts (export separately)
• Calendar (export separately)
