Connecting an External Domain

Already own a domain? You can use it with your Hostdeal hosting alongside or instead of your Lifetime Domain.

Option 1: Point Nameservers (Recommended)

Update your domain's nameservers at your registrar:

1. Log into your domain registrar (GoDaddy, Namecheap, etc.)
2. Find DNS/Nameserver settings
3. Change nameservers to Hostdeal's (check your welcome email)
4. Save changes
5. Add the domain in DirectAdmin

Option 2: Point A Records

Keep your nameservers but point to Hostdeal:

1. Get your Hostdeal server IP from DirectAdmin
2. At your registrar, add/edit A records:
3. @ (root) → Your Hostdeal IP
4. www → Your Hostdeal IP
5. Add the domain in DirectAdmin

Adding the Domain in DirectAdmin

1. Log into DirectAdmin
2. Click Domain Setup
3. Click Add Another Domain
4. Enter your domain name
5. Click Create

Propagation Time

DNS changes take 24-48 hours to fully propagate worldwide, though often it's much faster (1-4 hours).

After Connecting

• SSL will be automatically issued
• Email can be set up for the domain
• Upload your website files
