How to Transfer a Domain to Use with Hostdeal
Moving Your Domain from Another Registrar
Keep your domain at its current registrar but use it with Hostdeal hosting.
Option 1: Change Nameservers (Easiest)
No transfer needed - just update nameservers:
- Log into your registrar (GoDaddy, Namecheap, etc.)
- Find DNS/Nameserver settings
- Change to Hostdeal nameservers
- Save and wait for propagation
- Add domain in DirectAdmin
Option 2: Keep Existing DNS
Point A records to Hostdeal:
- Get your Hostdeal server IP
- At registrar, update A records for @ and www
- Update MX records if using Hostdeal email
What You Need
- Access to your domain registrar
- Hostdeal nameservers or IP address
- Domain must be unlocked (for full transfer)
Important Notes
- Your domain stays registered where it is
- You still renew with your current registrar
- Only the website/email moves to Hostdeal
After Connecting
- Wait for propagation (up to 48 hours)
- Upload website or install WordPress
- Set up email accounts
- SSL will be issued automatically
