How to Check Your Disk Space and Bandwidth Usage
Monitoring Your Resource Usage
Keep track of your hosting resources to ensure your website runs smoothly.
Viewing Usage in DirectAdmin
- Log into DirectAdmin
- Look at the left sidebar for usage statistics
- Or click Site Summary / Statistics for detailed information
Understanding the Metrics
- Disk Space - Total storage used by files, emails, and databases
- Bandwidth - Data transferred this month (visitors downloading pages, images, etc.)
- Inodes - Number of files (each file and folder counts as one inode)
- Email Accounts - Number of email addresses created
- Databases - Number of MySQL databases
What Counts Toward Disk Space?
- Website files (HTML, images, videos, etc.)
- Email messages stored on the server
- Database content
- Log files
- Backups stored in your account
Tips to Reduce Usage
- Delete old emails or download them locally
- Remove unused files and old backups
- Optimize images before uploading
- Clean up old database tables
- Use a CDN for large media files
