How to Restore a WordPress Backup
Recovering Your WordPress Site
Restore your site when something goes wrong.
Method 1: JetBackup Restore
- Log into DirectAdmin
- Open JetBackup
- Click Full Backups or File Backups
- Select the backup date
- Choose what to restore
- Click Restore
Method 2: UpdraftPlus Restore
- Log into WordPress admin
- Go to Settings → UpdraftPlus
- Find your backup in the list
- Click Restore
- Select what to restore
- Confirm restoration
If You Can't Access WordPress
- Use JetBackup in DirectAdmin
- Restore files and database
- Try accessing WordPress again
What Gets Restored
- Files: themes, plugins, uploads
- Database: posts, pages, settings
- Both: Complete site restoration
After Restoring
- Clear any caching
- Check site functionality
- Update WordPress if needed
- Scan for security issues if restored due to hack
Partial Restore
You can restore just specific items like a single database, specific files, or just emails.
