Moving Your WordPress Site

Transfer your existing WordPress site to Hostdeal hosting.

Method 1: Using a Plugin (Easiest)

1. Install "All-in-One WP Migration" on old site
2. Go to All-in-One WP Migration → Export
3. Export to File
4. Download the file
5. Install WordPress on Hostdeal via Softaculous
6. Install same plugin on new site
7. Go to All-in-One WP Migration → Import
8. Upload your export file

Method 2: Manual Migration

1. Export database from old site (phpMyAdmin)
2. Download all WordPress files (FTP)
3. Create database on Hostdeal
4. Import database via phpMyAdmin
5. Upload files to Hostdeal
6. Update wp-config.php with new database info
7. Update URLs if domain changes

After Migration

• Test all functionality
• Check images and media
• Test forms
• Update DNS to point to Hostdeal
• Request new SSL certificate

If Domain is Changing

• Use Better Search Replace plugin
• Update all old URLs to new
• Set up 301 redirects

Common Issues

• File size limits: Use plugin's extension for larger files
• Missing images: Re-upload or check permissions
• Broken links: Run search and replace
